Well, a big weekend coming up for us with our Property Team participation in the inaugural Surf Coast Relay For Life which is held over Saturday and Sunday at Bob Pettitt Reserve in Jan Juc. The event is a fund raiser for The Cancer Council and involves the continual movement of a baton for 24 hours commencing from 12.00 noon on the Saturday. All are invited and there will be a variety of attractions and musical presentations throughout the event which has attracted some 23 teams in its very first year here. Already, well over $20,000 has been raised by all teams and the support from our clients, friends and families has been nothing short of sensational. Thank you to all of them.

Naturally we will still be servicing our valued Vendors and Buyers over the weekend, though if we seem a bit bleary eyed you will know why!

Torquay Real Estate Open House Inspections October 22 – 23

Great weather this week with the mercury tipping 33 on Wednesday – a sign of things to come we trust !

Another busy week with yet another sale achieved in the increasingly popular Torquay Heights rural estate. This Estate was rezoned to allow subdivision down to around two acres early this year and already several vendors have subdivided and sold vacant land and acreage with existing residences. This weekend presents another great opportunity with the auction of 2/80 Sagittarius St on Saturday at 1.00 PM on site. This fantastic block is three relatively flat acres with ocean views and offering an idyllic rural setting with power and phone available. We are pleased to advise that Great Ocean Road Real Estate Torquay will be a major sponsor for the Cancer Councils ‘Relay For Life’ which is to be held from noon to noon over the 5^th and 6^th of November at Bob Petit Reserve in Jan Juc. We are also putting a team of fit and not so fit walkers together to participate and raise money for this great cause. The Torquay Lions Club in conjunction with Torquay Rotary are running the event and there will be a variety of entertainment and activities throughout the 24 hours. Like most of Victoria, Torquay has experienced a very cold week. Looking forward we have now officially passed the half way point of Winter and have the Spring and Summer months to look forward to. Similarly household owners and mortgage holders can breathe a sigh of relief looking forward with the RBA holding interest rates where they are – for now . This is positive news for home owners across Australia and good news for those investing in real estate.

On top of interest rates being untouched, Loan Market Group Spokesman Paul Smith said “a majority of Australians are not expecting anymore interest rate rises during 2011”. Many Australians will watch with anticipation to see if the majority of Australian’s are correct in believing we will not see an increase in interest rates.

Interest rates are telling a story of steadiness in the economy and this can also be said for the real estate market in Torquay. During the month of July, Great Ocean Road Real Estate Torquay have had a steady level of buyer enquiry resulting in a consistent month of sales. We have a number of happy vendors and buyers!

If July is anything to go by we can look positively towards the months leading up to Christmas and Summer.
